My Defender just died in a parking lot, what do I even do with these things battery-wise

Had to get a jump from a stranger in the lot which was embarrassing enough, but even after that it barely held a charge long enough to get home. The thing is I only bought this Defender about two years ago so I wasn't really thinking about the battery at all, just assumed it was one of those things you don't deal with for a while. Looked into it a bit afterward and apparently Land Rovers can be a bit particular about what battery spec you put in, something about the power management system not playing well with generic replacements. I'd seen a mention of Land Rover battery replacement experts while I was searching around and it made me realize this probably isn't a job for just any workshop. Ended up booking with a specialist and they checked the whole charging system too, not just swapped the battery out, which I appreciated because apparently my alternator was working a little harder than it should've been. Curious if anyone else with a Land Rover has had this come up earlier than expected or if mine was just a bit of a lemon from the start.
