Why does my Honda Accord vibrate …

Post Reply: Why does my Honda Accord vibrate so badly when I'm waiting at a red light?

Quote from Guest on April 16, 2026, 4:37 am
I'm hoping someone can help me figure this out because it's driving me crazy and I don't know where to start. I drive a 2013 Honda Accord with about 140,000 kilometers on it, and for the past few months, I've noticed that whenever I'm sitting at a traffic light with the car in drive and my foot on the brake, the whole car vibrates. It's not a subtle vibration either, I can feel it in the steering wheel, in my seat, even my rearview mirror shakes a little bit. The strange thing is that as soon as I start moving, the vibration completely goes away and the car drives perfectly smooth. Also, if I shift into neutral or park while I'm stopped, the vibration stops immediately. I've already tried a few things myself. I changed the engine air filter and I cleaned the throttle body because I read online that a dirty throttle body can cause rough idle. The vibration got a tiny bit better but it's still very noticeable. A friend of mine said it might be the engine mounts, because when they get old and cracked, they don't absorb the engine's natural vibrations anymore. That makes sense to me because the vibration stops when I shift to neutral, which changes how the engine is resting on the mounts. But I don't want to spend money on new mounts if that's not the real problem. I live in Abu Dhabi and I've been looking for a shop that knows Hondas well because I want someone who has seen this issue before. I found a place offering Honda repair Abu Dhabi service and I'm thinking of taking it there for a proper inspection. Has anyone else had this vibration problem on their Accord or Civic? Did new engine mounts fix it for you, or was it something else like spark plugs or a dirty fuel injector? Also, how much should I expect to pay for engine mount replacement if that's what I need? I really appreciate any advice you can share.
